This book lets us look inside one non-traditional family, a same sex couple and their son. As the children talk, it’s clear this boy lives in a nurturing environment where the biggest issues are the everyday challenges of growing up.

A tale of two Daddies e A tale of two Mommies sono due brevissimi libri illustrati per bambini volti a mostrare un modello di famiglia a oggi non convenzionale. Lo schema dei due libri è il medesimo: il figlio di una coppia omogenitoriale viene "interrogato" da degli amichetti che non riescono bene a comprendere la divisione dei ruoli all'interno di un tale tipo di famiglia. Sono tutte domande dettate da semplice curiosità, come "Quale papà ti costruirebbe una casa sull'albero? E quale ti aiuta quando ti graffi il ginocchio?" e "Quale mamma ti porta in bicicletta? E quale a far volare un aquilone?", tutte estremamente dirette, a volte più sciocche, altre dal significato profondo. E semplici sono le risposte, con un'innocenza che solo i bambini possono mostrare. I disegni sono semplici ma curati e le pagine scorrono letteralmente in un soffio. I libri sono ovviamente rivolti a un pubblico di giovanissimi, peccato per l'eccessiva sovrapposizione di molte delle domande/situazioni presenti tra i due volumi.
